What kind of pain relief is offered, and how will this procedure effect me long term?
Treatment alone will significantly reduce a patient's pain. Any pain relief that may be given is specifically tailored to the individual before, during, and after the procedure. Ice packs are provided, as it is best to keep the affected area cool. Most patients are tender or sore for one to three days and can expect a full recovery within one week.
After a root canal treatment, it is typical to need a crown to protect the tooth, and this procedure should save the tooth as well as eliminate infection and pain.
